Speaking of spanners, what does oppo recommend in terms of brand? I’ll be the first to admit that I have cheap harbor freight wrenches but they don’t fit well on the bolt heads.

If you have a Lowe’s near you, check out Kobalt.

Do they make ‘em like they used to?

Not entirely sure, mine are pretty old. They sti ll carry a lifetime warranty, and they’re now sold @ Lowes, Ace, and other places

“Do they make ‘em like they used to?”
The real
answer here, is maybe. Craftsman got really cheaped out during the last few years of Sears’ ownership of them. Stanley bought them, and the word I’ve heard is they’re investing big in Craftsman to bring the quality back. Right now, it’s kind of an open question. I did buy
this
small tool kit of theirs this fall. I haven’t used it much, but it seems well made, so I’m hopeful.

I bought a set of Capri ratcheting ones recently, the ratchet mechanism is really nice. I don’t think they’re really meant for a proper reefing, but otherwise the feel and look are spot on.
